Recording Port Adieu at Hyde Street Studios
We recorded our debut ep, Port Adieu at Hyde Street Studios (SF, CA) this past August. Elizabeth took some videos of the experience. It was better than we had even imagined it could be, and everybody knows about the power of imagination . . .

The music for this video came from Anna, Spencer + Jack warming up to a traditional tune called “Redhaired Boy.” Nigel caught it on tape.

This video speaks for itself.

Near the end of day one, Elizabeth interviews Anna + Jack.

Jack is really into creating alternative versions of our songs: techno, hip hop, funk, etc. Here is one with Anna on the plucking fiddle. You can see he’s developed a keen sense of the heart of the song.
Murder Ballads
We played a show of murder ballads awhile back at the Climate Theater. Desert Dogs opened with some psychedelic tunes and our good friend Erica Tempesta sang with us. The comment of the night was: ‘Nice job . . . you guys killed it.’
John Hardy, purportedly, lost a card game, went a little crazy and killed a man. The hook on this song is catchy.
This song, Oh the Wind and the Rain, is originally from England and it’s main premise is the making of a fiddle from a murdered woman’s body. Pretty beautiful, definitely gruesome.
